Tshwane Economic Development Agency banks strategic partnership with Al Expo Africa [PRESS STATEMENT]
As part of its strategy to position Tshwane as an attractive investment destination, the Tshwane Economic Development Agency (TEDA) has secured the rights as a destination partner to the continent’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) and fourth industrial revolution (4IR) smart tech trade event, the AI Expo Africa, which is scheduled for 7 to 9 September 2021.
The AI Expo Africa is the biggest business-focused AI, robotic process automation and 4IR trade event in Africa. Over the years it has cemented itself as the largest business gathering of its kind, attended by enterprise buyers, government representatives, 4IR practitioners, decision makers, international trade missions, vendors and global brands.
As a destination partner, TEDA has secured a plenary welcome slot, the Destination Partner and Exhibitor Booth and a 30-minute talk slot, which I will deliver as one of the main speakers along with TEDA acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr Lardo Stander.

The City, through TEDA, is thrilled to be part of this year’s AI Africa Expo as this speaks to our long-term objective to position Tshwane as the tech hub of the African continent. We are also aiming to secure future physical events for Tshwane, as well as partnerships with international tech players.
Our participation in the expo is a continuation of our work to create a positive climate for business and investment in Tshwane. To this end, we have hosted several business delegations to look at opportunities offered by Tshwane.
We also undertook outbound trade missions in collaboration with the private sector in order to help Tshwane-based companies to access international markets. This all contributes towards growing Tshwane’s economic footprint.
