AI Expo Africa 2020 welcomes latest batch of sponsors as new online format proves popular. Global RPA heavyweight Blue Prism along with a raft of new sponsors in the form of AI / RPA companies such as 3DIMO, Raphta, Qualetics, Predictive Insights and Ubiquity have all joined AI Expo Africa’s new online format which will see the third edition of Africa’s largest B2B trade-focused artificial intelligence (AI), data science and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) conference being held as an online e-Conference.
AI Expo Africa 2020 online will be held on 3 and 4 September. Besides making the show more inclusive, the new format will make it easier for other African companies to join the event as well as International companies seeking a market in the region from Europe, Asia, Americas & Middle East as they find new customers and distribution partners on the continent.
Nick Bradshaw, Co-founder of AI Media Group curators of AI Expo Africa stated, “Our move to online was naturally prompted by the COVID global pandemic crisis but there is massive upside to the online format we are using. Most people think online events are just webinars but the iVent conference platform we are using is a “digital twin” of a traditional conference including a four track speaking programme, virtual expo hall, poster zone, AI4Good zone youth zone and networking areas. It also allows us to reach so many more people and try new formats with new communities – it’s a very exciting opportunity for speakers, sponsors and delegates alike.”
The initial AI Expo Africa 2020 speaker line-up is led by Kay Firth-Butterfield, Head of AI and Machine Learning at the World Economic Forum; Neil Sahota, IBM Master Inventor, UN AI expert and lecturer at University of California, and Fred Werner, Head of Strategic Engagement at the International Telecommunication Union. Other confirmed keynote speakers now include Hon Minister Stella Tembisa Ndabeni-Abrahams, Minister of Communications, Telecommunications and Postal Services SA in the cabinet of Cyril Ramaphosa, Prof Tshilidzi Marwala Vice-Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg / Deputy Head of the 4IR Commision of South Africa and Bayo Adekanmbi CTO MTN Nigeria / Founder of Data Science Nigeria.
They are joined by enterprise executives from SAP, Vodacom, UiPath, Microsoft, Standard Bank, Oracle and ABSA. Entrepreneurs and thought leaders from Genesys, Ashanti AI, FinChatBot, Zindi, FIRtech, Future Fragment, and WizzPass will also be attending in the virtual exhibition hall with eBooth functionality – offering sponsors, vendors and service providers a means to interact with delegates and showcase / demo their offerings just like a face to face trade show.
Blue Prism, 3DIMO, Raphta, Qualetics, Predictive Insights and Ubiquity join a growing list of thought leaders and companies engaging with the AI Expo Africa 2020 online community that has previously included the likes of AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, IBM, PWC, Kenyan Government, ITU, Nvidia, Intel, SA Government, Dimension Data, UiPath, Vodacom, Hikvision, SAP, SAS, Telkom, Deloitte, Accenture, EY, ABSA and Standard Bank as the show grows into the next decade.
Roy Bannister, co-founder of AI Media Group and Director of AI Expo Africa 2020 Show Production, concluded, “We are aiming for 1000-2000 registered delegates for the 2 day live show (3-4 September) and 5,000-10,000+ for the 30 day Re-Live show which runs thereafter. The Re-Live aspect of the show is a new feature for 2020 and will be a great learning experience for young engineers, schools, colleges, universities and entrepreneurs. It’s a truly pan-African and global platform this year and a great first step into the 4IR business, innovation and Startup community in Africa.”
