Blue Prism, the market leading global developer of leading RPA software, will be a Diamond Sponsor of the AI Expo Africa 2020, which will be hosted virtually this year.

“The global lockdown has made this an opportune moment to highlight the fact that RPA must deliver more than just business process automations and reduced manual business processing. Now, enterprises need a Digital Workforce that can stand strong in the face of accelerated change,” says Greg Newton, Country Manager – South Africa at Blue Prism.

“At AI Expo Africa, we will outline changing RPA trends and the benefits of a digital workforce, to key decision makers from across the continent.”

Newton says these changing trends have been highlighted in the findings of Blue Prism’s annual global survey report titled, “The Impact of a Digital Workforce on Business Agility & Survival”, which indicates a growing level of trust and adaptation to automation in South Africa.

The report, based on research conducted with more than 6,700 knowledge workers and senior IT decision makers globally, reveals that South African enterprises appear to be ready to embrace Digital Workforces.

The survey found that business decision makers and knowledge workers are ready to deploy automation and RPA, with 90% of local business decision makers planning to extend the use of automation across their businesses and 83% of them indicating they already have a clear plan to do so. 74% of business decision makers believe that RPA and/or automation will be essential for their businesses to remain competitive over the next five years, and 90% identify automation and RPA as important factors in driving digital transformation.

However, while they are excited at the potential for automation, many are still struggling to apply it.

Compared with 82% of global decision makers, only 66% of South African decision makers agree that automation has already positively impacted their organisations.

AI Expo Africa Event Director Roy Bannister said: “We’re delighted to welcome the RPA market leader aboard as one of three Diamond Sponsors of AI Expo Africa, this year to be presented as a ‘Digital Twin’ of our face-to-face expo offerings. Blue Prism’s Digital Workforce expertise will add valuable insights to our programme, which will seek to guide Africa’s decision-makers into the future of work.”
