AI Expo Africa 2020 (3rd– 4th September, Cape Town) is looking to showcase Data Science / Machine Learning & Deep Learning related research & innovation that has tangible real world application in a business or social good context allied to possible investment / spin-out potential via industry partners or private investors.

The Innovation Wall at AI Expo Africa 2020
Following the success of the Innovation Wall at AI Expo Africa 2019 the vision of the 2020 initiative is to again bring together research and industry using poster presentations in a dedicated poster wall zone. Delegates at AI Expo Africa include investors, business buyers, government, entrepreneurs and researchers. It’s a great networking platform and personal development opportunity for students who want to build a profile in a commercial setting and accepted poster candidates gain full access to the show via 1x complimentary ticket worth $600.
Submission process
All submissions must be made via this link and the call will remain open until June 30th. Successful students will be notified early July. 12 x posters will be selected from the submissions and exhibited at the AI Expo Africa Innovation Wall zone.
Participation
The successful 12 students will be also be afforded access to the VIP opening event (2nd Sept 6-9pm). All food & refreshments are included for the duration of stay plus Wi-Fi access and parking for the VIP opening event and main show. Opportunities for media interviews and showcasing the posters via social media / TV will also be available. The posters will be judged and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners announced at the end of the event based on feedback from delegates.
Travel funding
Students are supposed to raise their own travel funding. In case the student cannot secure funding, the AI Expo will do their best in trying to contribute towards travel expenses on a case by case basis via sponsorship. Accommodation and other incidental expenses are for your account.
