The initial AI Expo Africa 2020 speaker line-up is led by Kay Firth-Butterfield, Head of AI and Machine Learning at the World Economic Forum; Neil Sahota, IBM Master Inventor, UN AI expert and lecturer at University of California, and Fred Werner, Head of Strategic Engagement at the International Telecommunication Union.

Nick Bradshaw, Co-founder of AI Media Group curators of AI Expo Africa stated, “Our move to online was naturally prompted by the COVID global pandemic crisis but there is massive upside to the online format we are using.  Most people think online events are just webinars but the iVent conference platform we are using is a “digital twin” of a traditional conference including a four track speaking programme, virtual expo hall, poster zone, AI4Good zone youth zone and networking areas.  It also allows us to reach so many more people and try new formats with new communities – it’s a very exciting opportunity for speakers, sponsors and delegates alike.”

Other confirmed speakers include enterprise executives from SAP, Vodacom, UiPath, Microsoft, Standard Bank, Oracle and ABSA. Entrepreneurs and thought leaders from startups and SME firms such as DataProphet, Omdena, IQ Business and Trueface are also part of the speaker line-up.

Genesys, Ashanti AI, FinChatBot, Zindi, FIRtech, Future Fragment, and WizzPass join a growing list of thought leaders and companies that have engaged with the AI Expo Africa community. AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, IBM, PWC, Kenyan Government, ITU, Nvidia, Intel, SA Government, Dimension Data, UiPath, Blue Prism, Vodacom, Hikvision, SAP, SAS, Telkom, Deloitte, Accenture, EY, Persistent Systems, ABSA and Standard Bank have all been part of the community as the show grows into the next decade.

Roy Bannister, co-founder of AI Media Group and Director of AI Expo Africa 2020 Show Production, concluded, “We are aiming for 1300 to 1500 registered delegates for the 2 day live show (3-4 September) and 5000+ for the 30 day Re-Live show which runs thereafter.  The Re-Live aspect of the show is a new feature for 2020 and will be a great learning experience for young engineers, schools, colleges, universities and entrepreneurs.  It’s a truly pan-African and global platform this year and a great first step into the 4IR business, innovation and Startup community in Africa.”
